|Ponca City, OK., May 20th, 2019 – Lake Vermillion in Minnesota is widely known as a fishing and scenic paradise. What the anglers on the 2019 North American Bass Circuit will come to know it for is abundant habitat for both largemouth and smallmouth bass, making this event all about game planning.
Presented by Ranger Boats, the June 15th stop at Fortune Bay Casino on famed Lake Vermillion will give both ardent smallmouth anglers and largemouth experts a chance to show what they got as they try to take the top prize money and trophy home. The idea that the anglers can come to the lake and fish what they know makes this stop an attractive option on the circuit.
“My first year there, in 2017, I was blown away by the strategy that went into competition on (Lake) Vermillion.” Tournament emcee Jeff Kelm said. “You had a few mixed bags of fish, but you could clearly see where most of these anglers had their minds set at, either smallmouth was going to take the win or largemouth were going to steal it away.” When asked how he thought anglers would start to learn what they needed, he chuckled “You know, it’s a fishy lake, you can start pitching whatever your favorite lure is and you’re probably going to catch.”
