On June 10th, NPAA Member Matt Jensen held a kids fishing clinic in conjunction with The Cedar Crest Resort Take a Kid Fishing event on beautiful White Earth Lake in northern Minnesota. Although the day was overcast and windy, there were 118 kids and 68 adults in attendance.

The kids were able to fish for four hours and trophies were awarded to the biggest fish caught for 9 different species.  After the weigh-in and before the trophies were presented the kids learned about safe boating procedures and the importance of always wearing a lifejacket while on the water.  They also were taught about Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) and how to check, clean, and dry a boat and watercraft to prevent the spread of AIS to other bodies of water.

Most kids either received a NPAA Future Pro T-shirt or fishing rod/reel combo thanks to the National Professional Anglers Association and the Future Angler Foundation.  Cedar Crest Resort and other area sponsors provided free lunch for all attendees and other door prizes for the kids.
