December 6, 2019 – With an entirely new format and concept on bass fishing, the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s North American Bass Challenge (NABC) will burst onto the scene spring of 2020 with all new format and events anchored by the historic Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament as its first event of the 2020 season.

Wendy Heim, of the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament committee and Pamp’s Outboard Inc., has said how excited she and the rest of the SBOBT board is for this event to find an organization like North American Bass Challenge to take on the SBOBT as a part of its new list of Challenge events. “This has been a great standalone tournament, the first for bass in the Midwest and we look forward to its continued growth with a professional tournament organization like NABC behind it.”

NABC Challenge events will vary in format and location but all will be premier events building on the success of proven models. Such is the case with the 2020 Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament. Once again set for its traditional annual weekend after Mother’s Day which is May 15-16 and will continue to feature the aspects anglers have come to expect, including the USA vs Canada competition, the same great 90% payback, a portion of every entry fee goes to SBOBT committee charities and conservation projects including a new Ranger boat powered by Mercury as the top prize, raffles, prizes and more!

North American Bass Challenge (NABC) falls under the Federation Angler group of fishing companies with nearly 40 years of industry expertise, owner Robert Cartlidge says that the Federation Angler team developed the concept of the North American Bass Challenge to provide anglers with large, standalone premier events of different types and formats, some of them long established, others brand-new competition with opportunity to fish with family and friends and all with the chance to win large payouts and big prizes. “You will see a couple different types of events under the new NABC flag. Cartlidge stated. Including team events like the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament and even Big Fish events and other specialty events that focus on fun for all and annual trips to compete in and win big.” The North American Bass Challenge is raising the bar with new concepts for anglers – Steller Payouts, No Circuit to Travel or Points to Track, no membership is required to participate, Have Fun, WIN BIG!
