AFTCO Freshwater Pro Team angler Hank Cherry secured his spot in the lore of professional bass fishing history last weekend in Fort Worth, Texas, by becoming only the fourth angler to hoist the iconic Bassmaster Classic trophy in back-to-back years. For the second consecutive year, the North Carolina pro proved he had what it takes to perform at the highest level on bass fishing’s biggest stage.

Cherry sealed the deal on his second Classic win, bringing 13 pounds, 1 ounce to the weigh-in stage on the final day, giving him a three-day total weight of 50 pounds, 15 ounces. With the win, Cherry earned the $300,000 first-place prize and became one of only four anglers in the 51-year history of the storied event to win the Classic in consecutive years.

So far in 2021, four of the eight Bassmaster events were won by AFTCO Freshwater Pro Team anglers!
