The best boat owner’s incentive in 2020?

launched their first models earlier this year and recently announced a lucrative incentive program for their owners fishing tournaments. “Today, most bass boat manufacturers offer a tournament contingency program whereby an angler who wins an event in one of their boats can pocket a cash bonus,” Bentz explained. “But our Caymas Cash program raises the bar by paying competitive anglers fishing from a Caymas boats as much as $10,000 for a tournament win. Nobody in the bass boat industry even comes close to that level of cash bonus payout.”
To pocket the ten grand, an angler must win a Caymas Cash Platinum Level tournament in a Caymas bass boat equipped with a 250 HP Yamaha outboard, Bentz said. “Caymas Cash Platinum Level tournaments encompass over 100 events on 13 different tournament trails supported by Caymas dealers across the Southeastern, Southwestern and Central United States. If an angler does not place 1st in a Caymas Cash Platinum Level tournament then the highest finishing Caymas/Yamaha angler among the Top 25 finishers in a Platinum Level event will win $2,500. Further, in Silver level tournaments Caymas anglers can earn up to $7,000 for a win. We feel these enhanced payouts will prompt serious tournament anglers who are contemplating the purchase of a new bass rig to take a close look at a Caymas boat.”
Rives Wears Numerous Hats At SPRO
Although his official title at SPRO
is Sales Manager, Georgia native Syd Rives does a little bit of everything to get the job done. We recently caught up with Rives as he was helping conduct an inventory of the SPRO
warehouse in Kennesaw, GA to get some background on his role with the company.
How long have you been working for SPRO? “I’ve been with SPRO for almost 14 years now.”
What does your role with the company involve? “I work with 20 independent sales reps and communicate our business plan with them. I also assist in product development, marketing, and wear several other hats. I’ve always liked to tinker with baits and lures, so helping with bait development is something I really enjoy.”
Which aspects of your job are the most rewarding? “I am very passionate about fishing and love sharing my knowledge and experiences with other anglers, media guys and pros. Fishing is a constantly evolving sport and I really enjoy learning about new techniques to increase my chances to catch more fish. Being able to talk about fishing and baits with some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry on a daily basis is something I will never take for granted.”
Can you give us some insider information on anything exciting that SPRO is working on for 2020? “I can’t get into too many details about what we have coming in 2020, but I can talk about the new colors we have arriving in our RkCrawler crankbait. This bait has been a hot seller for us since we introduced it, and expanding the color selection just made sense. We have some other variations of crawfish colors available, but are really excited about the new baitfish colors we are introducing. All of these new colors should be available on our website within the next week or so.”

As a long term B.A.S.S. partner and avid supporter of the TPWD Sharelunker program, Toyota has played a big part in growing the sport of bass fishing. Cold Weather Fishing Guide
Fishing in the elements can be extremely rewarding. However, it’s important to select the proper gear to keep you warm and dry when spending a day on the water during the winter. One of the keys to a comfortable day on the water during bitter cold conditions is proper layering. There are multiple layers needed for winter fishing, including a base layer, mid layer and outer shell. Equally important to your cold weather fishing clothing system are a good pair of fishing gloves, headwear for freezing temperatures, cold weather footwear and a good set of cold weather rain gear in case of wet cold conditions. Proper planning for a day of cold weather fishing can make all the difference in your level of comfort, as well as your ability to concentrate and perform to the best of your abilities.
