Nels Larsen

NPAA Certificate of Recognition Presented June 19th, 2016

“This certificate is presented on behalf of the NPAA volunteers and event sponsors to Nels Larsen to recognize him for his efforts on behalf of the Veterans who have participated in the “Walleyes For Warriors” events since 2011”.

Thank You Nels !

Mr. Larsen founded this event and managed it for the past 5 years, until health issues precluded the event’s founder from continuing this year with the very demanding organizational management efforts required to continue this event’s extremely successful Bay area community commitment to the Michigan area veterans.

In Nels Larsen’s 2016 absence, This year’s 2016 event was managed by the Great Lakes Bay Veterans Coalition. Thanks to them for filling-in.

The 2016 “Walleyes For Warriors” had 220 U.S. Miltiary Veterans in attendants and 118 Boats and their Owners & crews volunteered to take our Vets for a day of Free Fishing and a free 4:00 PM dinner following the Vets return to the Veterans Park. The day was beautiful and the fishing was terrific.

Nels Larsen was in the U.S. Navy and was a Combat Veteran during the Viet Nam war and who served on the inland waters of Viet Nam near DaNang. Mr. Larsen was honored in 2015 as the 25th. Annual “Bay County Michigan Veteran of the Year”. Mr. Larsen also comes from a long tradition of Military men in his family. His Father was “Navy” and 7 (seven) uncles that all served in WWII.

Mr. Larsen is passionate about thanking all U.S. Military Veterans for their service, sacrifices and giving them a well deserved a “WELCOME HOME” no matter where or when they served their country.

The NPAA is Proud to support our Military men and women and their families.
