Duluth, Minn. (May 15, 2019) – The Catch Your Moment Foundation, hosted a kid’s fishing clinic on Saturday, May 15th, 2019 at Duluth’s Twin Ponds. Despite the cold, wet, and windy Duluth weather, the day was extremely successful.

NPAA member Greg Beach (#1268) with the Catch Your Moment Foundation led an information-packed clinic for the children of the Duluth, MN area. The clinic covered water safety, knot tying, local shoreline fishing locations, and AIS in the area. The foundation hosted the event to help increase the angling population and to share the benefits of angling.

The clinic was held on the shores of Duluth’s Twin Ponds, presenting a special opportunity for the beginning anglers. Catch Your Moment coordinated the event to take place after the MN DNR stocked the pond with Rainbow Trout. The DNR’s “Put and Take” program allowed for the new anglers to enjoy catching the rare fish. Many of the adults that accompanied the kids stated that the clinic was great, and it allowed them to enjoy fishing too.  The young anglers caught Rainbow Trout with their brand new fishing combos donated for the event.

Catch Your Moment Foundation thanks the following companies and organization that assisted to make this event successful. The National Professional Anglers Association, Future Anglers Foundation, and Beach Outdoors for providing the gifts for the young anglers. Our sponsors, St. Luke’s, Lake-Vacations.com, J3 Insurance, Duluth Screen Printing, and Aerial Athletics. Also, the MN DNR and Duluth Parks Department for help to coordinate the event. Lastly, the Catch Your Moment Foundation would like to thank Elite Tinting & Graphics and Smooth Moves boat seats for helping support the foundation’s mission.

Catch Your Moment was started by a cancer survivor, Timmon Lund, who experienced the benefit that fishing provided during treatment. “Friends and family would pick me up and bring me to the lake. Just getting out took me away from what I was faced with and provided a relief that medicine couldn’t. Now, this is my way to give back.” The founding of the Catch Your Moment Foundation is a tribute to his friend Daniel Duty, who lost his battle with cancer.

Catch Your Moment Foundation is looking for volunteers from across the country to assist in their guiding missions. Interested parties should visit their website at catchyourmoment.org.
