Raymarine Technology Receives 2019 Pittman Innovation Award
For the past couple of decades, the digital side of sailing has become increasingly important, to the point where it’s now almost inconceivable going offshore, even aboard a daysailer, without at least a modicum of electronics onboard—a trend that has been very much in evidence in SAIL’s annual Pittman Innovation Awards. Named after SAIL’s late products editor, Freeman K. Pittman, these annual awards recognize innovative new products in a wide range of categories that elevate the sailing experience.
Announced in October of 2018, ClearCruise AR makes it easier than ever for boaters to understand the navigational environment around them. Available exclusively on Raymarine’s Axiom series of multifunction displays, ClearCruise AR provides live HD video feeds of the boat’s surroundings overlaid with dynamic graphics that clearly identify navigation aids, automatic identification system (AIS) contacts and saved waypoints, making complex navigation and high-traffic situations simpler to understand. Raymarine’s powerful new AR200 Augmented Reality Stabilization Module delivers stable video and precision alignment to the entire AR experience. The system can support up to 10 high-definition feeds from Raymarine CAM210IP and CAM220IP marine cameras for complete 360° coverage, if desired.
ClearCruise AR for Raymarine Axiom, Axiom Pro, and Axiom XL multifunction navigation displays is compatible with LightHouse 3.7 or higher. Axiom users may download the latest update at www.raymarine.com/lighthouse. The CAM210 HD marine video camera (USD $699.99) and the AR200 video stabilization module (USD $499.99) are currently available through FLIR’s network of Raymarine dealers and resellers.
