While red tide is affecting some of Florida’s coast, your area may be safe! Because red tide is transient and can shift daily, it’s important to find out local conditions before you head out to fish.

To help, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Mote Marine Laboratory have each created useful websites for anglers to check the status of red tide in their area.

FWC ‘s Red Tide Current Status report and daily sample map are updated daily at 5 p.m. with the last eight days of sampling.

Mote Marine Laboratory’s Beach Conditions Report is updated every day at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. local time.
