Side Scan Tip 1
Understanding fish on side scan/side imaging
A little side scan training. Fish are difficult to see on hard bottom since they display as bright and hard bottom is bright. This image shows as I was slowly moving and fishing on a transition from hard to soft bottom. The left side was soft bottom and the green circles show fish easily. The red arrows barely show the fish because of the hard bottom.
Side Scan Tip 2
More side scan/side imaging training. The black circle shows fish with a shadow separated from the fish. The red partial circle shows a fish.
The green arrows show crosstalk from my Humminbird Mega Imaging which I run at a different frequency than my Lowrance.
Helix G3 DVD released
I finally finished the Helix G3 DVD. It is available for purchase as a hard copy DVD or download.

Lowrance HDS Pages Tip for rough water
Thermoclines occur in the summer and have a rapid change of temperature. Sometimes they don’t have enough oxygen below them for fish but some do. the best way to tell is if you see fish like the black arrow you know they have enough oxygen to live there.
