White Bear Lake, MN- Wildlife Forever offers the State-Fish Art Contest as a fun and exciting way to get outside even when the thermometer reads below zero.

The State-Fish Art Contest is a free K-12 art competition, teaching the joy of fishing and the importance of aquatic conservation. Supported by Title Sponsor Bass Pro Shops, the contest uses art and writing to ignite the imagination of youth and can spark the next generation of stewards. Young artists that enter can win prizes over $200 in value and worldwide recognition. The contest deadline is always March 31st.

“Winter is a great time to introduce young people to the world of fish and fishing. The State-Fish Art Contest connects students to what is happening below the water’s surface and can inspire them to learn about aquatic conservation,” said Pat Conzemius, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever.

To enter, young artists should submit:

  • An original horizontal 9”x12” piece of artwork featuring any fish from the “Official Species List”
  • A piece of creative writing, no longer than one page about the chosen species
  • A State-Fish Art Contest Entry Form, attached to the back of the artwork

Completed entries should be submitted to the address at the top of the entry form no later than March 31st, 2020.
The 2020 State-Fish Art Contest also offers two new award categories, the Guy Harvey Award sponsored by the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and the Fish Migration Award, in partnership with the World Fish Migration Foundation.  To learn more, visit www.StateFishArt.org
