White Bear Lake, MN-  Wildlife Forever is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to host the Nebraska State-Fish Art Contest. Nebraska Students can compete for a chance to win state and national honors and great prizes.

Young artists in grades K-12 are eligible to compete in this free art competition. Winners will be selected by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, state winners will advance to the National Competition to be judged for top honors such as the Best of Show.  The Art of Conservation® sparks creativity and inspires wonder about the outdoors, developing the next generation of anglers and conservationists. State-Fish Art also serves as a one-of-a-kind Recruitment, Retention and Reactivation (R3) program to grow youth participation in fishing. The deadline to enter is March, 31st 2020, so start creating today!

“The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is excited to be part of the State-Fish Art Contest and to serve as a state host. This contest is one unique way that the Game and Parks Commission is working to connect with future anglers and promote aquatic education in our state, we can’t wait to see what unfolds,” said Larry Pape, Outdoor Education Specialist with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

“Working at Wildlife Forever, I have had the opportunity to see the impact that the State-Fish Art Contest has on youth. The connections created through this contest lures young people to become stewards of the outdoors,” said Pat Conzemius, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever.

To enter, students from Nebraska should submit their entry consisting of the following:

  • An original horizontal 9”x12” piece of artwork featuring any fish from the “Official Species List”
  • A piece of creative writing, no longer than one page about the chosen species
  • A Nebraska State-Fish Art Contest Entry form, attached to the back of the artwork

Completed entries should be mailed no later than March, 31st 2020 to the following:

About the State-Fish Art Contest: The award-winning Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art® Contest, with support from Title Sponsor Bass Pro Shops and US Forest Service, brings children, art and aquatic conservation together! To enter, young artists create an original illustration of any official state-fish and written words detailing its behavior, habitat, and efforts to conserve it. Entries are categorized in four grade levels: K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.
