Currently, 90 percent of seafood consumed in the United States is imported, 50 percent of which is derived from aquaculture.  Worldwide, aquaculture is the fastest growing food production sector and presents an enormous economic opportunity for our nation as aquaculture produces $230 billion worth of goods annually.
