Sturtevant, Wis. – Evinrude announced today that Team Evinrude Professional Angler Carl Jocumsen won the Bassmaster Elite event held on Lake Tenkiller in Cookson, Oklahoma, September 19-22. His four-day total weight of 54-pounds, 15-ounces earned him $100,000 and his first Elite win. Jocumsen is also the first Australian to ever win a Bassmaster Elite event.

Yesterday, after placing third and trailing leader Kyle Monti by four pounds, eight ounces, Jocumsen boldly stated that he believed he was on the fish to win. He predicted he needed five keepers to have a legitimate shot, and blew away that expectation with a limit of 19-pounds, 12-ounces that ranked as the tournament’s heaviest single-day catch.

“This past weekend’s event was life changing, between the last day’s catch on my birthday and one week before I get married, I can’t believe how it all played out and it’s something I’ll never forget,” said Jocumsen. “Speed does not get talked about like it should on the tournament trail, but to me it’s a major advantage. When I first ran the (Evinrude E-TEC) G2 it set me back in my chair. My engine lets me cover more ground than the competition, allowing me to find more fish each day. Evinrude’s reliability, performance, torque and top-end speed are crucial for what I do.”

Evinrude’s engine line up, from 3.5 to 300 HP, offers customers superior value across a full range of applications, and are available at authorized Evinrude dealerships worldwide. Follow Evinrude on Facebook at www.facebook.com/brpevinrude.
