NPAA News for Immediate Release –January 28, 2019
The NPAA is Turning Ripples into Waves in 2019
Forestville, WI – The National Professional Anglers Association is wrapping up the first month of the new calendar year with some exciting news and announcements.
Earlier this month the NPAA hosted its Annual Conference in Minneapolis, MN where nearly 300 NPAA members and partners attended the event that included seminars from such well known anglers as Bassmaster Classic Champ Jordan Lee, and former Forest Wood Cup Champion Jacob Wheeler. Also presenting to the attendees was the American Sport Fishing Association’s president Glenn Hughes, who did a tremendous job of outlining how each angler can help assure a strong future for sportfishing.
Another key event that takes place at each NPAA Conference is the Board of Director’s election. This year Kirt Hedquist’s three year term expired and Kirt opted not to run for re-election. The entire board would like to thank Kirt for his service and dedication to the NPAA during his term as a board member.
The results for the board election had John Gillman, from Midland, Michigan, elected to a three year term. Following the elections the NPAA Board went on to appoint officers for the next 12 months. Brian Bashore has been appointed as President and Robert Blosser as Vice President for this period. Congratulations go out to both of these dedicated individuals who will serve on this volunteer board of directors.
Looking forward, the NPAA Board has chosen the dates and venue for the 2020 NPAA Conference. The event will be held on January 3rd-5th. Next year’s Conference will be hosted by, Chula Vista Resort and Conference Center, in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Patrick Neu, NPAA Executive Director said, “We are excited to announce that we are returning to this family friendly, and centrally located venue for our 2020 Conference. Conference details and reservation information will be shared on September 1st, 2019.”
