The official 2022 Ladies Fly Fishing World Championship is set for July 4th through the 10th in Norway. The event will be held in the Innlandet region with the host municipalities of Stor-Elvdal and Rendalen. This event, officially sanctioned by the Confederation Internationale de Peche Sportive – CIPS & Federation Internationale de Peche Sportive – Mouche, is the only fly fishing world championship acknowledged by the International Olympic Committee through their affiliation with AIMS (Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sport – www.aims.sport ) and GAISF (Global Association of International Sports Federations – www.gaisf.sport ) This championship is the first official women’s fly fishing world championshipever held. It is a catch and release angling event where total length of fish is recorded. Special care is taken to ensure that the fish and fishery are minimally impacted by the competition. FIPS Mouche organizes fly fishing championshipsfor Women, Adult, Youth and Masters (over 50) anglers. The Adult competition does include men and women anglers but this championship is dedicated exclusively to women. The USA Women’s Fly Fishing team is part of USAngling, a 501c3 charitable organization, www.usangling.org, that supports America’s fishing teams as they compete in World Championship and Pan American fishing events around the globe. This event will be attended by: USA, Czech Republic, Norway, South Africa, England, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Australia. |
