Park Falls, WI (May 13, 2019) – If you’re at all familiar with the fishing world you probably know the name Tom Neustrom. He’s one of the most recognizable and knowledgeable anglers on the scene—and has been for decades. Looking back, Tom began his 40 plus year career as a fishing guide on Lake Geneva in Southern Wisconsin. Since that time, Tom has made his residence in Minnesota, where he’s spent subsequent years guiding customers for walleye, trophy northern pike, bass, muskies, jumbo perch, and crappies around the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area.

Tom has been recognized by In-FishermanNorth American FishermanFishing Facts MagazineMidwest Outdoors, and Minnesota Sportsman as one of the top walleye guides in the country. By being able to closely work with these publications, it has allowed Tom to convey his fishing knowledge and expertise to thousands of readers. Tom is also a key contributor to the new and nationally recognized Lindner’s Angling Careers Workshops which provides opportunities for attendees to learn about employment and career opportunities in the fishing industry.

Tom spends the majority of the open water season guiding customers, outdoor writers, and sponsors to memorable days on the lakes and rivers of northern Minnesota. Off the water and ice, Tom spends much of his time doing fishing seminars, writing articles, doing in-store promotions, and attending numerous Minnesota DNR meetings.

Adding to that schedule, Tom Neustrom is now an official member of the St. Croix pro staff. Marketing Director Jesse Simpkins comments: “St. Croix Rod is excited to have Tom Neustrom join our family. His knowledge and ability to dissect and communicate the nuances required to develop product will be valuable to our Team.”

Tom Neustrom comments: “When I think of St. Croix Rod I think of a company that builds rods in the U.S.A. by people who care. It’s a family-owned business that people respect. Not only that, anglers really believe in the quality and performance of the rods. People just gravitate to St. Croix because they know the product is solid and there are diverse product lines to match every type of fishing application and there are rods for every angler. And it’s also the development of those products by the people who live in the community of Park Falls, Wisconsin. When you walk into the building they’re so friendly—whether you’re coming to visit on a corporate level or browse rods and tackle in the factory store. Everyone is treated the same. To me, that’s really important and part of why joining St. Croix’s Team has been such a wonderful thing for me. You’re not just another name, you get to join a family.”

He adds: “And with regards to the product, what can I say? When you pick up a St. Croix rod it’s like an extension of your arm. The sensitivity, power, and overall performance is really unparalleled. The fishability is amazing. I’m simply ecstatic to be part of the Team, get to fish St. Croix, as well as provide input for the next generations of product.”
